Hypofractionated Radiotherapy for Early Stage Breast Cancer
This initiative seeks to deliver benefits across the domains of value by:
- improving health outcomes for patients through increased access to evidence based best practice for breast radiotherapy (hypofractionation)
- improving the experience of receiving care by reducing breast radiotherapy treatment duration, leading to improved quality of life measures and patient experience by reducing the disruption to patient’s lives, time away from family, work and other day-to-day activities
- improve the experience of providing cancer care by partnering and engaging with clinicians, resulting in both a more efficient use of clinician time and increasing capacity to help patients in need of radiotherapy.
- improve efficiency and effectiveness of care provision by enabling more efficient use of linear accelerators, potentially reducing the need for some capital works, increasing health system capacity and reducing wait times to access treatment.
